Isenburg Faucet Design Contest

Award WInning Design Bathroom Fixture Designs

Judged by Dallas based Isenburg Faucets

In the Fall of 2017, Isenburg Faucets reached out to students of the Design 2 Class in the ATEC Program at The University of Texas at Dallas to design, 3D-model, prototype, and present an original bathroom fixture line to Isenburg Faucet Company shareholders to have their designs considered for production. As one of the winning designs, The Gatsby Bathroom Fixture Line impressed Isenburg Faucets with its original aesthetic that referenced back to the Art Deco Design Movement of the 1920s.

Gatsby Bathroom Fixture LIne

The Gatsby Fixture Line consisted of a single handle faucet, double handle faucet, shower head, hand shower, and floor mount tub filler. Judges were impressed with the attention to detail in the 3D renderings I created on the Trimble Sketchup Program, as well as the virtual bathroom mock-ups that showed how the fixtures would look within an interior space.

Design Process

The Design process involved conceptualizing original designs that would stand out from Isenburg’s current modern fixture lines. Designs would then be 3D modeled to show final concepts. For the Gatsby Fixture Line our team decided to showcase how fixtures would look in a variety of bathroom styles. Finally, we created cardboard prototypes fully scaled to specifications with functioning parts so that judges could view the faucets in person.
